Let's Finish the Barn!

The Heritage Farmstead Museum's annual fundraiser is a unique and fun-filled event that takes place in the historic pole barn of the farmstead. This year our event features a dinner, True Texas BBQ, hosted by HEB and concert with the sounds of King George, a George Strait cover band, providing live entertainment throughout the night. The fundraiser also includes several exciting activities, including a live and silent auction, chicken poop bingo, and pick a pig. Guests can participate in these activities and potentially win prizes or experiences. In addition to the various activities, the fundraiser also features Poncho's Wine Pull where guests can select a bottle of wine and potentially win a high-end bottle worth much more than the cost of the pull. Not to mention a photo op with their favorite mammoth jack. One of the highlights of the event is the presentation of the annual Best Friend of the Farmstead award, which honors an individual who has contributed significantly to the museum's preservation and educational efforts.

Overall, Friends of the Farmstead is a lively and engaging event that brings together the community to support the museum's mission and celebrate its unique history. This year our dream is even bigger, we are asking our friends to help us finish the Ammie Wilson Barn. The building will be a educational discovery center, a historic replica of the original barn. We have raised 75% of the funding and hope to ‘raise the roof’ so to speak during this year’s annual night under the stars.

2023 Best Friend

Spring is nature's way of saying Let's Party! And we are planning a big one to celebrate Carol Short as this year's recipient of the Best Friend of the Farmstead. This award has been given annually in recognition for individuals who have made extraordinary, significant, and sustained contributions to the Heritage Farmstead Museum over the course of their service to the museum. We are thrilled to be honoring Carol at Friends of the Farmstead, our annual dinner/concert on Saturday, April 29th. Make plans to attend the BEST Night at the Museum and pay tribute to a great friend.
