We are thrilled to announce the Heritage Association is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Over the past five decades, we have worked tirelessly to preserve and educate others about our rich heritage. To commemorate this milestone, please join us at the Heritage Farmstead Museum's annual fundraiser, 
Friends of the Farmstead, Friday, June 7.

Friends of the Farmstead is a lively and engaging event that brings together the community to support the museum's mission and celebrate its unique history. This unique and fun-filled event takes place in the Farmstead's historic pole barn and features a True Texas BBQ dinner, hosted by HEB, live entertainment by country band Raised Right Men, and a live and silent auction. Try your luck at Chicken Poop Bingo and Pick a Pig for a chance to win various prizes. Guests can also stop by Poncho's Wine Pull for a bottle of wine and a photo op with our favorite mammoth jack donkey. A highlight of the event is the presentation of the annual Best Friend of the Farmstead award, which honors an individual who has contributed significantly to the museum's preservation and educational efforts.

This year, we’re thrilled to honor someone truly special at the Friends of the Farmstead Dinner & Concert—our 2025 Best Friend of the Farmstead, Meg Belanger!

Meg has made a lasting impact on the Heritage Farmstead Museum through her dedication and incredible contributions. Her years of service as a docent and Master Gardener are beautifully reflected in the vibrant, flourishing gardens surrounding the Wilson House, an everyday testament to her lasting impact on the Museum. "I think she sees in technicolor. She brings beautiful light and color to everything," says M'Lou Hyttinen, Executive Director of the Heritage Farmstead Museum. On October 10, 2025, we’ll raise a glass to her legacy and celebrate the vibrant future of the Farmstead together.
