About Heroes for Children
Serving Pediatric Cancer Families in Texas
Heroes for Children is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization that advocates for and provides financial and social assistance to families with children (0-22 years of age) battling cancer. Over the last 20 years, Heroes for Children has supported Texas families by providing immediate financial assistance to families facing their hardest times. We've given out more than $7.5 million to over 8,100 Texas families with a child battling cancer. There is no other organization that provides direct and immediate assistance to families with such ease when it comes to restoring normalcy and bringing comfort through each family’s journey.
Our Mission: Heroes for Children advocates for and provides financial and social assistance to families with children (age 0-22 years of age) battling cancer.
Our Vision: No family with a child battling cancer will fight alone.
Our Story: Heroes for Children was founded by Larissa Linton and Jenny Scott in memory of their daughters, Taylor Anne Brewton and Allison Leigh Scott. Both girls courageously battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia with strength and courage. Taylor was four and a half years old when she passed away in November 2001, and Allie was just shy of nine months old when she passed away in September 2004. Though they lost their fights with cancer, their legacy continues on with Heroes for Children.
