2025 Lamplighter Auction FAQs

• When and where is the Lamplighter Auction this year?

Lamplighter Loves the 90s will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the House of Blues: 2200 N Lamar St, Dallas, TX 75202.

• What is the theme?

Lamplighter Loves the 90s is a 90s party! Early 90s, mid-90s, late 90s…. it all works! Think Britney Spears, N’Sync, Chris Farley, Saved by the Bell, 90210, and Friends!

• What should I wear?

Channel your favorite 90s celebrities or ensemble cast, rock a Juicy tracksuit, or dig out a vintage Chicago Bulls jersey. Butterfly clips, Doc Martens, or a spaghetti strap tank over your t-shirt, the options are endless!

Don't feel like dressing up? Come as you are! We can't wait to see you there!

• When will I receive invitations, and how do I buy tickets?

All families will receive an email invitation to purchase Auction Event tickets. Tickets will go live Friday, January 17, 2025!

• How does Silent Auction work?

The fun begins with the opening of the online auction! Our Silent Auction and Big Board items are hosted through an online platform, allowing our school community to bid from the convenience of their phone beginning Wednesday, February 19, at 8:00 p.m. Get ready to bid on your favorite items, then celebrate in person at The House of Blues on Saturday, February 22! Silent Auction closes at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23. 

• When can we see the Live Auction items?

The week before the Auction, each family will receive an Auction book with a preview of the Live Auction items, ads, tributes, and list of event sponsors. 

• What if I can’t attend the Auction but I want to bid on a Live Auction item?

Proxy Bidding is available! Please contact the Lamplighter Advancement Office for a proxy bid sheet and further details: advancement@thelamplighterschool.org. 

• What are Class Projects?

Each grade level will have a specific project (artwork, book, etc.) available for purchase in conjunction with auction packages and individual tickets. This is an optional add-on memento to celebrate the Lamplighter Spirit in your student(s).

• What are Class Pets?

Pre-K through T1 classes all have a book popular in the 1990s and corresponding class pet (stuffed animal or character) that will go home on adventures with each child after winter break. The pets will be available for purchase at the Auction. These are a HOT TICKET ITEM!

Lamplighter Loves the 90s is hosted by the Lamplighter Parents' Association (LPA) as the Association's primary fundraising effort benefiting The Lamplighter School.

As part of your package, you’ll receive the following:

*Sponsorship of a Social Event or Auction element of your choosing: Snow Day, Mahjong, Movie Night, Main Bar, Entertainment, Live Auction, VIP Reception, or Dinner.

* Limo service for you and your guest to the auction party and back home at the end of the night!

As an underwriter at the Titanic level, you will also have the exclusive option to purchase reserved seating for 2 people at any of the below school programs ($100 each). Please note you may not purchase more than 2 seats per event (see bottom of page for Add-On options).

After purchasing a package, you will receive the UNDERWRITING FORM, which will be included in a follow-up email from the LPA.

The tax-deductible amount for this UW level is $6,000

“Life is Like a Box of Chocolates” Forrest Gump | $7,500

As part of your package, you’ll receive the following:

*Sponsorship of a Social Event (ex. Trivia Night, Tennis, etc.) or Auction element (ex. Satellite Bar, Paddles, Check-in, or Valet) of your choosing.

* Admission to your choice of four Auction Socials (You may select 2 tickets to the After Party in place of one social)

* Reserved seating to three 2024-2025 School programs: seating is for two people

As an underwriter at the Forrest Gump level, you will also have the exclusive option to purchase reserved seating for 2 people at any of the below school programs ($100 each). Please note you may not purchase more than 2 seats per event (see bottom of page for Add-On options).

After purchasing a package, you will receive the UNDERWRITING FORM, which will be included in a follow-up email from the LPA.

The tax-deductible amount for this UW level is $4,500 

“Ugh! As If!” Clueless | $5,000

As part of your package, you’ll receive the following:

The tax-deductible amount for this UW level is $3,000

“Hakuna Matata” Lion King | $2,500

 ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES

“Lamplighter Tributes” and Advertisements are full-color sections of the Auction Book that will be seen by everyone who attends the auction (more than 500 copies are distributed). Tributes are dedicated to Lamplighter students, faculty, or staff from their family and friends and include a photo and personalized message in the Auction Book. Advertisements are a great way for businesses and organizations to reach out to members of our community. Proceeds from Advertisements and Tributes benefit Lamplighter Auction 2024.
