Michael Brodie Bruner, age 49, of Fairview, Texas, Lovejoy community resident, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 5, 2024.
Brodie was born on November 5, 1974, to Betty and Michael Bruner in Carthage, Texas. He grew up in Mount Pleasant, Texas, and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1993. He pursued higher education at Baylor University, where he earned a BBA in Business Management and International Business in 1996 and was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
At Baylor, Brodie met the love of his life, Teri Ogle. They married in Houston, Texas, on April 5, 1997. Their family grew with the arrival of their son Brendan in 2004 and twins Brooklynn and Brantley a few years later.
Brodie began his career at Weathermatic in Dallas, Texas, where he emerged as a leading advocate for commercial and residential water savings. He authored a book to help industry contractors build profitable businesses. As Executive Vice President, he played a crucial role in the development and sale of Weathermatic's software and technologies to major global companies.
Brodie’s passion extended beyond his professional work. He co-founded the Weathermatic Foundation with Mike Mason, focusing on "Save Water. Give Life." This initiative, in partnership with Living Water International, led to numerous trips to drill water wells, providing clean water to impoverished communities and saving countless lives.
In his community, Brodie was an active member of Cottonwood Creek Church and the Lovejoy Home Group. He contributed significantly to Lovejoy ISD's charitable programs, providing water wells in third-world countries, and served on the Board of Directors of Paper for Water, supporting Living Water International through philanthropic efforts.
Brodie leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to others. He cherished his family, always putting Teri and their children first. As a devoted husband, he exemplified Ephesians 5 in his love for Teri. As a father, he actively supported Brendan, Brantley, and Brooklynn in their various interests, from sports to hobbies. He nurtured Brendan's passion for cars, leading him to study Engineering at Texas A&M, and wholeheartedly supported Brooklynn and Brantley in wrestling, equestrian activities, and even became a "Swiftie."
Brodie will be remembered for his calm demeanor, quiet humility, determination, and sense of humor. His wisdom, evident from a young age, and his resilience in overcoming childhood cancer at 11, are testaments to his strength and faith.
Brodie is survived by his loving wife, Teri Bruner; their children, Brendan, Brantley, and Brooklynn; his parents, Betty Bruner, Mike Bruner, and Mike’s wife, Helen; his brothers, Bryan Bruner and wife, Marci, Brady Bruner and wife, Paige; his in-laws, Paul and Linda Ogle; sisters-in-law, Tricia Brown and husband, Kyle, Traci Spann; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Brodie’s legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and everyone privileged to have known him.
