Biography:

Watt Matthews Casey, Jr. is married to Jenny and lives in Albany, Texas, where he manages the 74-year-old Casey Beefmasters herd on the Phin Reynolds Ranch. He graduated from UT Austin in 1977 with a Bachelor’s in Journalism, with a main emphasis on photography.    

Over the years he has had photographs appear in numerous albums and box sets including Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Jimmie Lee Vaughan, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, and others, magazines, books, and documentaries. Exhibits include the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, the Courthouse Center for the Arts-West Kingston, Rhode Island, The Arkansas Tech Museum, and Antone’s Home of the Blues in Austin, and other locations.    

Over the years, Watt has photographed a wide array of musicians, from Eric Clapton, whose 1974 tour he worked on, Johnny and June Cash when they were filming and recording for a show for CBS TV in the Texas Hill Country the third week of March 1982. Photographing an array of artists, including Dean Dillon, Bob Dylan, Albert, B. B. & Freddie King, Willie Nelson, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Steve Miller, Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Muddy Waters to name a few. Watt's photographs of blues musicians are in the homes of Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Van Morrison, Keith Richards, Jane Rose, Ronnie Wood, and others.    

Steve Miller of the Steve Miller Band wrote the forward to "My Guitar Is a Camera," published by TAMU in October 2017. Text written by Watt and several well-known authors and approximately 200 b/w and color photographs of famous and not-so-famous musicians both on stage and off fill the 125 pages.    

One award I am grateful to have received (twice I think) is the Camp Fire First Texas An Artists’ Christmas Best of Show--Thank you!!!!
