How can one person save lives by defending the rule of law? Prepare to be inspired by Hauwa Ibrahim, the courageous Nigerian human rights lawyer who made headlines worldwide when she won appeals for women sentenced to death by stoning under Sharia law.
Come network and enjoy light hors d'oeuvres before hearing from Hauwa, who will speak about the importance of defending the rule of law, her human rights cases, and the role she played in helping secure intelligence leading to the release of Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram. Susan L. Karamanian, Dean of Hamad Bin Khalifa University's College of Law, will moderate.
