The Big Tex Youth Livestock Auction is the culmination of a year’s worth of hard work, dedication, and fundraising to support Texas students. This time-honored tradition celebrates young exhibitors from rural and urban communities who invest countless hours raising animals in hopes of earning top honors at the 78th Annual Auction.

On Friday, October 2, 2026, the auction returns to the Briscoe Carpenter Livestock Center during the State Fair of Texas, giving donors the unique opportunity to witness these students’ achievements firsthand. Higher-level donors may secure reserved seats to bid on livestock, making a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of these young Texans.

Every dollar – 100% – raised for Auction Day goes directly to the youth exhibitors, with remaining proceeds supporting the Big Tex Scholarship Program, helping even more Texas students achieve their educational goals.

The State Fair is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Any contribution of $250 or more will receive a tax letter noting the deductible portion of a contribution.
