With deep appreciation, we are proud to recognize Michelle Vopni as the 2026 Ignite Award recipient which honors a business leader for their commitment to Cristo Rey Dallas and the Corporate Work Study program. As the Dallas Office Managing Partner at Ernst & Young LLP, Michelle oversees daily operations in one of the firm’s largest markets. A Dallas native, she advocates for diversity and prioritizes client needs. Her leadership fosters inclusivity and exceptional development opportunities, reflecting EY’s commitment to building a better working world. Michelle exemplifies service beyond the workplace with CRD as past Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee. As a key member of the Jobs Committee, she has been instrumental in securing numerous Job Partners, beginning with EY as a founding partner of the program. Michelle, a licensed CPA, holds a BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. She serves on the boards of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Dallas Regional Chamber, Jesuit Dallas Foundation, and Cristo Rey Dallas.

It is with heartfelt joy that we honor Chris Popolo with the 2026 Luminous Award, which recognizes a person or organization who demonstrates passion and commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey Dallas. Chris is a community volunteer and philanthropist, focusing on education and faith-based institutions. She is passionate about providing access to quality education to every member of our community, regardless of their zip code. She is a member of the Communities Foundation of Texas’s Community Leadership Council and the Freeman Family Board of Directors. She has served on the Board of the Visiting Nurses Association and the Strategic Planning Committee for Dallas Life. Currently, she is a CASA advocate and active in her children’s schools. Chris has been a dedicated member of the Academic Committee, and played a key role in advancing Cristo Rey Dallas’s academic mission over the years. A committed supporter, she previously served as Grow the Grove Chair and continues to champion the Corporate Work Study Program and related events throughout the year. Currently, she serves as a member of the national Cristo Rey Network board of directors.
