With immense gratitude, we recognize Michelle Vopni as the recipient of the 2026 Ignite Award, which honors a business leader for their commitment to Cristo Rey Dallas and the Corporate Work Study program.
As the Dallas Office Managing Partner at Ernst & Young LLP, Michelle oversees daily operations in one of the firm’s largest markets, fostering a positive environment for over 3,500 employees. She also serves as the Gulf Coast Market Leader, guiding Office Managing Partners in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas in executing firm strategy.
Representing the century-long legacy of the EY organization in Dallas, Michelle engages in local professional organizations and community events, championing education and mentoring. A Dallas native, Michelle is committed to the community, advocating for diversity and prioritizing client needs. Her leadership fosters inclusivity and exceptional development opportunities, reflecting the EY commitment to building a better working world.
Michelle, a licensed CPA, holds a BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. She serves on the boards of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Dallas Regional Chamber, Jesuit Dallas Foundation, and Cristo Rey Dallas.
LUMINOUS AWARD | CHRIS POPOLO
It is with heartfelt joy that we honor Chris Popolo with the 2026 Luminous Award, which recognizes a person or organization who demonstrates passion and commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey Dallas.
Chris Freeman Popolo is a community volunteer and philanthropist, focusing on education and faith-based institutions. She is passionate about providing access to quality education to every member of our community, regardless of their zip code. She is a member of the Communities Foundation of Texas’s Community Leadership Council and the Freeman Family Board of Directors. She has served on the Board of the Visiting Nurses Association and the Strategic Planning Committee for Dallas Life. Currently, she is a CASA advocate and active in her children’s schools. A graduate of Duke University, she has been married to Joe for 25 years. They have three children: Kit (Ursuline ’16, Boston College ‘20), Buck (Jesuit ’19, Boston College ‘23), and Connor (Cistercian ‘21). She enjoys tennis, golf and travel.
