About Equest Women's Auxiliary
The Equest Women’s Auxiliary (WAUX) was founded in 1986 under the leadership of Louise Griffeth, with the purpose of supporting and promoting Equest. What began as a small group of women has grown into an auxiliary of over 250 women, and a signature luncheon and fashion show event that is chaired by a leader in the Dallas community. Every year on the first Tuesday in October, the Women’s Auxiliary women arrive at the Brook Hollow Golf Club for a champagne reception, photo opportunities with Equest’s mini horses, and a first-class fashion show sponsored by Highland Park Village. After enjoying models cruising the runway in jaw-dropping fashions from stores like Caroline Herrera, ETRO, Lela Rose, and more, attendees learn the latest about Equest mission and then feast on a gourmet lunch in the club overlooking the golf course. In 2024, the WAUX luncheon team raised over $315,000 to benefit Equest’s mission.
